Hey Everyone,
We have a running joke in our home that we really can't receive the revelation that we think we can, because we have new life plans every other month. This month, we are heading out to Austin to check it out...see what it has to offer....but don't ask us about our plans. Depending on what day you ask, you may get a different answer. We'll see. Please enjoy our new pictures. Alina turned 2 on Sunday, so we have officially made it to the Terribles. Little Ivan laughs a LOT and is a joy, as is his big sis. Ivan and I are working, trying to figure out the direction of this family, and pretending that we're losing weight, hence, no pictures of us. Love you all.

OK, its been a long time. So here are some updates:
Right now in the Souberbielle home, we have the return of the mother-in-law, which is always delightful and such a big blessing. Alina loves sharing her room with her abuelita and wakes up every morning trying to whisper for Abuelita to wake up. Alina also has reminded us lately of how things are done in her time...we're waiting for her to actually start using the potty...she likes to wait until after she's gone to tell us, but hopefully she'll be over that soon. She has really been picking up in her speech - she says many phrases now like, "I like it", "Where is it?", "No quieres" (which really should be no quiero - I don't want), "se acabo" and my favorite, "Mami, that's not funny". She knows lots of different animals and their corresponding sounds, she likes to have Mommy and Abuelita put makeup on her after we're done doing our own faces and she is always excited on Tuesdays and Thursdays to go and see her friends at daycare. She is a character and we love her more and more each day.
Ivancito is doing VERY well. He is now 2 months old and weighs 15 pounds 10 ounces (99th percentile) and is 25 inches long (97th percentile). He already laughs a lot when we talk to him, likes to be left alone after his meals, looks exactly like his daddy (and acts like him too) and is very very sweet. We blessed him this past Sunday and it was so sweet to know that we've been blessed with such a special young man.
Ivan is doing great as well. He's working!!!!! He works at a cell phone company aimed at Latinos and loves it and is finding out that he is a pretty good salesman. Who woulda thought. I have to say it is pleasing, rewarding and sweet to see my husband maturing. Good thing.
And for me, well, I go back to work on Monday. That's bittersweet because I hate being away from the house all day, but I do love not having to worry about money, so I guess I'll take the good with the bad. I'm trying to lose this baby weight and Ivan and I have a $50 bet going on to see who can lose the most by his birthday. Wish me luck.
Just want to tell you all that we love you very much, thanks for all of the prayers. We really do receive the blessings. We miss you and come and visit us.
holla

And then there were four........
Well, Ivancito is finally here - after gaining 45 lbs, seeing my belly measure to the size of a woman who would be having twins, some Pitocin and oxygen and 9 hours of labor, we finally met Ivan Alexander Souberbielle. He was born on Monday, March 3rd, at 4:07pm, weighed 9 lbs 6 ounces and measured 22 inches long (that puts him in the 99th percentile for height -crazy). We are just starting to get an idea of his personality because he has spent his first few days under UV lights, but he is usually peaceful (unless its time to eat - a true Souberbielle) and likes to watch his big sister run around and dance.
Alina is slowly adjusting to the idea that he is staying and that this is the same baby that we've been talking about for so long. She is starting to get some interest in him-until yesterday she just kind of ignored him. Big Ivan and I are excited and exhausted but mostly feel so blessed to have such sweet spirited children in our lives.
Muchisimas gracias to all of you for your helping hands and prayers. We love you!

We are stepping into the 21st century! I figured while I have time off, I can't sleep and we have a little one coming, I would start blogging.
Let's see, we are waiting for little Ivan to arrive on Wednesday (hopefully I will be getting induced that day) and big Ivan and I have been enjoying our time together and with Alina. Alina is growing like crazy...we look at her and realize that she is much more of our little girl than our baby. She is VERY active, has much attitude (we can't figure out where she got that from), is brilliant and very sweet and social. She is counting in English and Spanish up to 14, she learned how to say "Ni hao" this week and is learning her colors. She wakes up in a great mood every day with a big "HOLA" and likes to kiss mommy's belly. She went in the potty this week for the first time - YAY and mommy was ecstatic. Alina just looked at me. We love her very much and feel truly blessed to have a growing family.
